Most of them do but the things that make it a Swiss Made caliber are all made in Switzerland, re-engineered by TAG and assembled 100% by TAG Heuer. Swiss-made, this bold TAG Heuer Carrera is an aesthetic 43 mm watch. That's not to say that there aren't movement manufacturers that use non-Swiss components. In fact, nineteen out of the twenty component suppliers are Swiss and the only connection that it has to SII is that they still supply some "nuts & bolts" components such as levers, pins, and screws but no major horological parts. The dimensions of the movement are very different from the original SII (Seiko Instruments Inc) patent. The 320 part caliber is then put together entirely in TAG Heuer's manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds. TAG Heuer started with that base and completely re-engineered and redeveloped all core components and made each of them in Switzerland either by the TAG Heuer in their subsidiary, the Cortech factory or by a top Swiss supplier such as Nivarox. Babin writes in his comment that the 1997-1999 Seiko patent was granted to TAG to be used in their own movement. Hearing information from an insider is always more credible. Of all people to comment on this was former CEO of TAG Heuer himself (now CEO of BVLGARI) Jean-Christophe Babin. Another website, Calibre11 (a TAG Heuer fan website) published article addressing this concern, ironing out any details of this allegation. The debate began when a post on WatchUSeek (a discussion forum for watch enthusiasts) mentioned that it's basically the same as a Seiko caliber. At heart, the concept of the case is a two-piece design that has a upper stopwatch-style element seated in an architected base section.There was much debate in the horology community a while back over if the caliber 1887 was, in fact, made 100% in-house. The CMC uses a fancy “carbon matrix composite” material for the case, along with the dial. The value of the Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph grew by 127 between 19, meaning it has more than doubled. In fact, the two bullhead Carrera models share designs save for colors and materials. The Carrera Caliber 1887 Jack Heuer watch shares a case with the also new for 2013 Carrera CMC Concept watch. Though since the Mikrogirder, TAG Heuer has refined the case. These concepts have been around for a while, but this particular case design is a newer part of the TAG Heuer parts bin that debuted with the Mikrogirder watch from 2012 (hands-on with video). Bullhead layouts place the crown and chronograph pushers at the top of the case, while angled watches elevate the dial and orient them to your face a bit to make legibility a bit easier without having to twist your wrist. It is a “bullhead” style case with an angled dial. If you aren’t familiar with the concept, it looks quite strange. The first thing you’ll notice about the Carrera Calibre 1887 Jack Heuer is the design of the case. Though his birthday model celebrates history while the Calibre 1887 model celebrates where TAG Heuer is today. The two Jack Heuer watches are thematically similar, and both equally attractive.
